The UConn men’s basketball team will play in a November tournament for the 10th consecutive season in 2014-15 when it competes in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off on November 20-23, 2014, in San Juan.

In addition to UConn, the eight-team field will include Boston College, College of Charleston, Dayton, George Mason, New Mexico, Texas A&M, and West Virginia.

It will be the first time that the Huskies have competed in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off, which began in 2007. Charleston, Dayton, George Mason, and West Virginia have each played in the tournament once before.

The tournament, which this year is being played in Roberto Clemente Coliseum on November 21-24, showcases 12 games over three days --- Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. Each team will compete in one game per day, advancing through a bracketed-tournament format. The two undefeated teams after the first two days of the tourney will meet in the championship game on Sunday, November 23. The games will be televised by the ESPN family of networks.

Previous champions of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off include Miami (2007), Xavier (2008), Villanova (2009), Minnesota (2010), Alabama (2011) and Oklahoma State (2012).

UConn is currently competing in the 2K Sports Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project, which will hold its semifinals and finals on Thursday and Friday at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Over the past nine years, the Huskies have participated in the 2005 Maui Invitational, the 2006 Hispanic College Fund Classic, the 2007 2K Sports College Hoop Classic, the 2008 Paradise Jam, the 2009 NIT Season Tip-Off, the 2010 Maui Invitational, the 2011Battle 4 Atlantis, the 2012 Paradise Jam, and this year’s 2K Sports Classic.
