Details on the Randy Edsall Five-Year Contract with the University of Connecticut.

EAST HARTFORD: Details of Randy Edsall’s five-year contract were released to the media on Friday at his coming back home press conference.

Here are some of the highlights.

-The employment contract will be for a term of five (5) years with an option for a two-year extension after a 24-month review at the discretion of the UConn Atheltic Director.  

-Edsall will receive a base salary, paid bi-weekly, in the amount of $400,000.

-Edsall will receive additional compensation in the annual amount of $600,000, paid quarterly for the performance of media, fundraising, public outreach and other similar responsibilities.

-Edsall can receive additional compensation not to exceed the amount of $100,00 per year, in achievement of certain performance goals awards, set forth by the Athletic Director.

1. Retention bonus of $300,000 if he remains employed by UConn as head football coach on December 1, 2019.

2. Retention bonus of $200,000 on December 1, 2021 if still the head coach of UConn football.

-A suite and five parking spaces for all home football games at Pratt and Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field and 20 tickets for all away and post-season bowl games.

-The University will extend Corey Edsall an employment offer to serve in the Division of Athletics but not under the supervision of his father. Edsall is currently Defensive Graduate Assistant at Colorado University.

-If UConn terminates Edsall for any reason other than cause, he will be entitled to certain compensation levels.

1. Prior to December 1, 2017-$3,000,000

2. 12/1/2017 to 11/30/2018-$2,000,000

3. 12/1/2018 to 11/30/2019-$1,000,000

4. On or after 12/1/2019-$0.

-In the event that Edsall terminates his employment prior to the end of the term fo anyt reason other than his death or disability, he will owe the University the following cash payment, in accordance with the effective date of your separation from UConn.

1. Prior to 12/1/2017-$3,000,000

2. 12/1/2017 to 11/30/2018-$2,000,000

3. 12/1/2018 to 11/30/2019-$2,000,000

4. On or after 12/1/2019-$0.
